“Without morals, without good conduct, and without knowledge, nations cannot build future generations or fulfil their duties. Civilisations are founded upon knowledge, noble character, gallantry, an understanding of the past, and an aspiration toward the present and future.”
– The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan
The principles of etiquette and protocol are among the fundamental components of nation-building and the establishment of the greatest civilizations throughout history. They are the best evidence of respect and appreciation for the human soul. Humans are naturally innately committed to community. God Almighty says: “And We have made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of God is the most righteous of you.”
To foster prosperity and refinement in human interaction, it is essential for individuals to understand the foundations of etiquette—the art of respectful and courteous behaviour that encompasses the accepted norms of politeness both within and across societies.
In light of the remarkable development our beloved country has witnessed across all fields—from digital systems to space exploration—and in alignment with the goals of environmental sustainability, I have sought to gather in these pages the most important and widely accepted rules of etiquette, from the origins of this noble art to our present day—an era in which humanity races alongside artificial intelligence, the metaverse, and even space etiquette.
This work stands as the first Arabic publication on the art of digital etiquette, addressing topics such as AI etiquette, metaverse etiquette, digital media etiquette, space etiquette, green etiquette, and other contemporary themes.
