Austin Macauley Publishers (AMP) was founded in London in 2006 and established its premises in Sharjah Publishing City, UAE in 2017. In 2018, we officially released our first titles in Arabic and English, both in eBook and printed formats.
From the beginning, AMP UAE became a member of the Emirates Publishers Association. This provided us with valuable insights into local, regional and international themes and proactive actions that could be taken to further develop the UAE publishing sector. We have consistently participated in events such as the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, and the Sharjah International Book Fair. Our presence at these events facilitates collaborations with authors and readers in the community, enhancing discoverability and sales.
As our brand gained significance in the UAE, AMP’s International Publishing Director, Jade Robertson, was recognized among the 30 most Influential Women in the Arab World by Arabian Business in 2019, reflecting our ambition to reach more readers globally. Continuing our active participation in industry discussions, AMP’s International Publishing Director was selected as a panellist in the Publishers Conference, organized by Sharjah Book Authority in 2019, emphasizing the importance of digital tools in shaping the future of publishing.
AMP was appointed as the official licensee of the Expo 2020 Mascot Book, promoting themes of sustainability and technology to young readers and attendees of Expo 2020. In the same year, we launched our first bookstore at Global Village, Dubai.
In 2021, our premises at Sharjah Publishing City expanded significantly. In response to the developing audiobook market, we introduced Audiobook formats to enhance accessibility of our titles.
We attended the 2nd International Booksellers Conference in 2023, gaining fresh insights from the UAE publishing industry to further enrich our staff’s knowledge. In recognition of our growth and contributions, AMP was awarded Best International Children’s Publisher by UAE Business Awards in 2023. Committed to sustainability, we implemented initiatives such as using environmentally friendly materials and promoting sustainable practices internally, leading to winning the Sustainability Award from the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in 2023.
Our role to publish Arabic books continues to expand with over 900 titles from authors in the UAE region and worldwide to date. We continue to elevate knowledge within communities through the written word, with top export locations including Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and KSA.
