Jeddah... By Peter Pinar
Every time I walk around the old town, I can’t stop talking pictures, because there is something so amazing in the air. You feel as if you are part of an ancient world, where life was simple and people matter. Somehow Life seems to be “on-hold” in this place, so it looks like it came out of a history book, making people feel happy and inspired.
Jeddah gave me so many opportunities to hone my skills, such us: watercolor painting, drawing portrait for people in public places. I am sure you will enjoy reading this book and the artwork will catch your eyes as well. My deepest appreciation and respect to Jeddah and its people.

A Discussion With Al-Mutanabi
Nowadays, when I look at the library shelves, especially in the literary sections, I wonder: Is there any hope for the new generation to break into these wide-open castles? To look at its treasure of human heritage, then meditate on the reason of why there were abandoned? The possible answers might be their uselessness, the difficulty to understand them, their abundance and diversity, their big size, the shortage of time, the weak cultural establishment of new generations in the educational institutions, the improvised raising of new generations in their families, the shallow media space which is run by businesses that seek their personal interests only, and the scarcity and weakness of reform initiatives. This book is an attempt to attract new generations to these treasures in an innovative way; it may open the door to other creative ideas aimed at changing the status quo, which is worsening quickly. The prevailing belief that public culture is not a priority must be corrected. It is a negative understanding that has led to the decline of its social role in building the national character. This is what we witness in every situation and social scene every day.

Dream Of A Veiled Woman
An unknown personality was born in a very simple and captivating countryside in the land of Yemen, in an ancient house, and in a remote mountain village where traditions prevail, ruled by the tribe authority. She tries to listen to her talkative heart. She had realized that she was different, and that voice made no sense to her except that she wanted him to be silent. He was talkative; so she held the pen and began to write what that voice dictated to her… She was surprised by him telling her five amazing stories. He made her travel with him around the world and make a book from those stories, separating each story from another is a unique literary chapter in which the exchange between her and her talkative heart takes place. Because of him, she was different from her peers, and when the book was finished, she knew that it was a message to the world. A war has begun in which was proved that it is an audible sound even if it comes from under the rubble, and even if it is captive for fear of breaking the tribe’s laws, and that the world should hear it because it deserves to go out into the light. That noble humanitarian cause made her say, “I am a Yemeni woman.”

Nostalgia
Hanin, my first experience in writing free poetry. It expresses the journey of the days in pictures and vocabulary, through which I draw simple images of the memories that I lived in, and grew up with. The poems colored my life, so I wanted to publish them, so that their fragrance could spread among the readers. I hope these words reach them and color their lives with joy and happiness.

Unforgettable Love
It is the unforgettable true love.
It is true love that never ends.
These are love stories that happened one day, in an old house, and in a different era.
These are stories of beautiful memories, fascinating adventures, and endless love.
These are stories of an era in which we once lived; with mixed feelings of love, fear, sadness and pain, within the walls of the old house… between a close-knit family where love, intimacy and lasting harmony prevail.
Yes, I admit, it is impossible to return to those days, but they remain immortal and precious to us, as it is difficult to forget them. Because it is

Soul Talk
The morning tells us a story that optimist people love, as the morning has a different flavor, taste and color when we have dreams and aspire to achieve them.
Be one of those who loves the early mornings and plan their path. Be like the bird who starts his day early, flying around, looking for his needs.
Don’t look outside and everyone is running to advance, while you are sitting on your balcony, perhaps you will see someone you know and point at him, and tell people around you that you know him, and you are proud of knowing him, it is unfair to destroy yourself in this way.
How awful it is to see everyone progress, and it is enough for you to know someone, and he doesn't even know that you see him, he is immersed in his dreams, devoted to developing himself, preoccupied with his ambitions, knowing him does not mean anything to him.

Freedom Of Choice
Have you ever wondered what your tongue is saying and why you are saying and doing what you don’t want? Have you ever prepared for life but the days have taken to a completely different destination, making you wait for what you want and exposing everything that you do not want? Have you ever wondered why, how, when, and where, why them and not me? On one night, specifically in 2016, I came home to find my mom diseased and full of fear, as if she had died. I will never forget that look in her eyes and the fear in her voice when she asked me, “Do you interfere with political matters?” I swore on the Koran that I never do that. Then, I knew that there was an official report against me from one of my co-workers, who aspired to be the best and wanted to remove from her path all that threatened her. At that moment, the transformation of my life was evident and my prayers were answered… For seven years at that job, I promised myself every day that I will move, and I fed it with dreams and a life unlike the one I live in. But I did nothing but procrastination and praying, and a lot of crying, and God wanted to wake me up; and so that was the awakening which gave me the freedom of choice. Here, dear reader, it’s real life.
