Description

Don’t be afraid to dream. I was a middle-class girl and today I am living my dreams –it’s almost unbelievable for me and it proves everyone has a chance; if I can, anybody can. Through my experience, my failures, my success, I have learned many things in life but the most important thing is there is no replacement for hard work, your background does not decide your future, all I know is to work damn hard and god helps those who help themselves. In life where we reach is important, not where we have come from, like a lotus flower.

Universe favors the stubborn.

Make mistakes, learn from them, be human, be you. Our struggles determine our success. Believe in yourself and in your dream. As we get older, with the benefit of experience we begin to notice that most of the things have little lasting impact on our lives. The people whose opinions we cared about so much before are no longer present in our lives. Rejections that were painful in the moment, have actually worked out for the best. People often say that “I am very lucky”. But you know what, I have worked hard to become lucky.

Deepika was doing bachelors’ degree in commerce and company secretary studies when she received a call from the aviation to work in one of the international airlines as a flight attendant. She left her studies to pursue her dream job in year 2004.

Besides an airline job, she participated in an international beauty pageant in Dubai in year 2017 – she made it to the top five contestants and also won one of the titles. After that, she worked with many international makeup artists, photographers, and brands as a model.

She did her shooting course in U.A.E. and received a certificate. She is adept at handling most of the rifles, pistols, and revolvers safely.

She has traveled more than 100 countries. Besides flying, she is also passionate about writing. Some of her short stories have been published in the Friday magazine in the Gulf News.

She has also worked with many NGOs in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Uganda as a volunteer and donated to the needy; for example, clothes, foods, books, blood etc. In many countries from time to time, especially during the COVID situation, she paid online monetary donations as per her reach to many organizations to help the needy. Ten million meals campaign was also one of them, from U.A.E. It was a small contribution from her to provide food assistance to vulnerable individuals and families affected by the corona virus outbreak as part of 10 million meals campaign.

She also donated her 16 inches long hair to Friends of Cancer Patients in Sharjah, U.A.E., and received the certificate to bring the smile on a brave child’s face fighting cancer.

“Turned Mile Into S’mile” indeed a great caption. This book is an autobiography of Mrs. Deepika Dubey , a proud Flight Attendant.

The book talks about the challenges that she had to experience during her childhood and through the journey to fulfill her great dream .Despite of all the struggle, she believed in herself and held strong to her grandfather’s advice ” No Risk – No Game ” .

The life lessons that Mrs Deepika has learned and would like all the young people to absorb is that ” it’s every generation’s responsibility to show the endless possibilities to the next. We must tell them that they are not alone in their journey, we all are in this together and we shall overcome ” . ” Life is not about finding yourself, life is all about creating yourself ” .

Despite all the bullying, low self esteem,no confidence she promised herself that she will change and don’t have to do it for people but for herself ,for her parents.

The great dream of hers was to touch the sky, to be a flight attendant. As she was relentlessly working towards her goal ,despite all the rejections and hardships she made it through. She succeeded and became a Flight Attendant in an International Airline .

Her journey proved that where you reach is important not where you come from. You are in charge of your own destiny.

This book is volume 1 . Volume 2 is yet to come which talks about rest of her life after she became a flight attendant .
