Way down in Penguin Land lived two best friends, Clutch and Haiven. While Haiven was serious and studious, Clutch was imaginative and playful. One day, a terrible storm hit penguin land, destroying much of the town. Eventually, most of the town got cleaned up, but the statue of the town’s founder, Sir Percival Penguin, remained fallen. Haiven had an idea how to raise Sir Percival, but even then it would take the entire town to lift him to his feet. What was Haiven’s idea, and how could his classmates help put his plan into action?

Jay Winograd is a retired music and drama teacher. He has taught band, orchestra, choir and drama in nine different countries around the world, most recently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has had a lifelong love of penguins, and this has inspired him to write about the adventures of two young penguins, Clutch and Haiven. When Jay is not busy writing about penguins, he enjoys playing his trumpet and playing chess.
