Dr. Faisal Almehaid artfully disentangles emotions, giving these abstract feelings words, and meaning. These poems progress in a spectrum, exemplifying the different states of need someone can go through.

Both in Arabic and English, these poems are different yet portray the beauty of both languages.

Dr. Faisal Almehaid started writing poetry as a hobby during his college years. English and Arabic studies in college ignited his passion for writing. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2017. Currently, he is specializing in the field of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, following the abstract and physical definitions of beauty. An avid reader of history, philosophy, and poetry, you can find him between the pages of a book or tracing the many forms of art; or in the operative theatres of the hospital he works in.

The Moving Type is a truly unique book that is one story with one-hundred writers' contributions to it and edited by one person to craft it into shape. The story is about a global virus similar to covid called Budlyt-19 and the global pandemic it causes. The book is fast-paced and full of action with elements of suspense too. We see huge pharmaceutical companies battle each other for the antidote to this virus and see the main character Nadia become entangled in the corruption of LifaLabs pharmaceutical after receiving a cryptic message anonymously. She then becomes a real-life test subject for the antidote solution to the virus and is injected with a purple dose of the live virus. We see people turn on each other, stakes made high and corruption abound in this fast-paced dystopian post-apocalyptic thriller where no one can be trusted. I flew through this book and found it very well edited considering it has such a high amount of contributions to the story.
