In her first book, First-Class Romance, the author Shahnaaz presents a captivating narrative through her brilliant and emotional poems. She weaves a love story with human and natural themes, where one loves and everyone else searches for it, yet simultaneously flees from it due to a mysterious fear embedded within.

One duel can be seen as the question of fear, but three duels represent an attempt to ignore! This is met with the outrage of an enlightened society regarding such behavior.

The behavior of loving the same sex and others is a matter that frightens us to the point of burying our emotions, leading to the resolution of conflict and the building of family alliances through marriage.

Regardless of the party involved, love is rejected, and expressing it would cause the lover to lose their land and possessions.

Shahnaaz Rabiei is a poet, storyteller, photographer, and visual artist of Iranian-Bahraini descent. She sees herself as belonging to the whole world due to her travels to many countries around the globe.

As a young girl, during her first year as a middle school student, she was pulled from her studies and playtime with friends to get married, becoming a mother at just fourteen.

She began to shine again as she pursued her education after becoming the mother of her fourth child. She studied middle and high school in adult literacy programs, then completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, confidently following her dreams.

Shahnaaz traveled to the United States to earn a PhD in law, working as a lawyer and professor at the University of Nebraska.

Her life journey is long and filled with events and upheavals. Many writers in America have approached her to write her life story, but she has postponed it due to work and extensive travels.

Shahnaaz says, “At that stage, I realized that higher education is just the beginning of many lessons a person learns during their travels and encounters with various cultures and ideas in the world, accepting them with respect.”

She is known for her use of poetic discourse in some of her poems, reflecting her deep connection to love, her immense talent, enthusiasm for learning, acceptance of challenges, and support for women’s rights.

For Shahnaaz, love is a feeling and a spiritual harmony, a resonance that emanates from the depths of her personality towards everyone she connects with.

She began writing in Arabic after her marriage and her study of the language, which allowed her to blend the lushness of Persian with the depth of beautiful Arabic expressions. She has published her first book, hoping to print her forthcoming writings soon.

Shahnaaz writes in three languages: Persian, Arabic, and English. She describes herself as an ‘Iron Woman’ due to the numerous qualifications she has earned, the various fields she has worked in, the challenges she has faced, and the experience she has gained during her travels.
