Dr. Khalifa Al Rumaithi: Dr. Khalifa Al Rumaithi is known as a pioneer in the field of National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) in his country. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Geospatial World Forum in April 2019 in Amsterdam as a “pioneer in the UAE geospatial community”.
Dr. Khalifa Al Rumaithi was born in Abu Dhabi. He held senior government positions that resulted in experience in strategic planning and geographical policies. He is one of the veterans who lived with the founders of the state. He received a good amount of education in the field of surveying and spatial data, which enabled him to control the locations of geographical names in a scientific manner.
