Will The Letters Return?
The neglect of our beloved language (Arabic) has become a truly alarming issue these days, and I wanted to convey the seriousness of drifting away from Arabic in a child-friendly way that resonates with children aged between nine and twelve, using a humorous and educational approach so that the reader does not lose interest and so that the message gets across correctly.Arabic is a time-honoured language, and it must be passed down through the generations, never to be lost. However, it has been observed that, with progress and development, this generation has come to use our mother tongue (the Arabic language) very little. For this reason, I wrote this story to imagine a world without letters, without words, without any means of communication, so that we might feel the gravity of the situation and reflect on the guilt we have incurred towards this beautiful language. We must instil this language in the hearts of children, for they are the generation of the future and the foundation of tomorrow. If it remains alive in their hearts, it will remain a strong and enduring heritage, and we need not fear its extinction or disappearance; but if it dies in the hearts of children, it will fade away little by little. Therefore, we must seize the moment and revive it in their hearts once more so that the foundations of the Arabic language remain strong for a better generation.

And the little homemade book became my companion to help my son gently work through his feelings and fears. I hope it will be yours, too.
