The Historical Gates of Dubai and Its Decorations talk about the wooden doors and designs that were once an important part of Dubai’s traditional homes. These doors were not only practical but also carried cultural meaning, showing how art, daily life and the environment were connected. Saeed shares how craftsmen worked with the climate and materials available to create designs that still hold beauty and value today. The book also includes stories of carpenters…their tools and the methods they used to keep this craft alive.

Born in Al-Ahsa in 1966, Saeed Abdullah Al Wail is a PhD researcher in interior architecture and a dedicated scholar of Islamic arts, decorations and inscriptions. For over a decade, he has focused on documenting traditional carpentry across the Gulf and also published studies to preserve its history and cultural value.
