Othman Nour will join us at the Jeddah International Book Fair for a book signing of Memoirs of a Mental Patient on Wednesday, 17 December 2025 at 19:00. The signing will take place at Jeddah Superdome at stand R1. Visitors will be able to meet the author, speak with him about the book and get a signed copy during the event.

Memoirs Of A Mental Patient uses strong images of the sea to speak about hard moments in life. It compares hope to an old wooden boat that moves up and down in rough waves, while storms push a person off balance and make them lose their way. The book reminds the reader to hold on, because storms do not last forever. It also shows how the deep can look calm and beautiful with pearls and shells in quiet water, yet this calm can hide danger. After the storm ends, a person may find they are sinking, alone, unheard and unsure of how to return.

Othman Nour was born in Abha and raised in Makkah, then moved to Jeddah. He graduated from King Khalid University with a chemistry major in the Education Department. He worked as a high school teacher for nineteen years. He also cared about the arts, especially fine art and later started literary writing.
