This moving novel journeys through the seasons of war, love, and loss. Set against the backdrop of Iraq’s invasion, it follows Qusay and Jude as they navigate shifting landscapes of sincerity and betrayal. From one autumn to another, in different countries and emotional states, their story unfolds with depth and tenderness. Fleeting encounters, fading faces, and a deep connection mark their path until their final meeting in 2040, where Jude’s life settles into a somber farewell.
Author Mohaned Shaker was born in Baghdad in 1981. He grew up witnessing the devastating impact of the Gulf Wars and the occupation of Iraq.
