From the United Arab Emirates to the United States of America, your writer, Rashid, embarked on a scholarship trip to study abroad – a journey in which he tasted the sweetness of success and the bitterness of failure, the pain of alienation, the beauty of travel, the magnificence of Arab identity, and the richness of connecting with others.

This was not merely a period of study abroad, but rather a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Through eight pivotal moments on his adventure-filled path, Rashid narrates the lessons he learned – insights that shaped his four-year experience and enriched his understanding of life.

As part of his commitment to passing on his experiences to future generations, Rashid includes a special message for students, ‘A Scholarship Message,’ at the end of this book. In it, he shares the key factors that helped him achieve academic excellence and build a life filled with knowledge and enjoyment.

I invite you, readers, to immerse yourselves in this narrative – written from the heart of experience – between the covers of this book.

Rashid Mohammed Al Muhairi is a simple person who loves learning and knowledge, and always seeks to develop himself.

He did not want to study abroad at all, but in 2019, God granted him a scholarship from one of the scholarship agencies in the Emirates.

He was confused and distracted about the field he would take after graduating from high school. He wanted to be a pilot, but his mother urged him to pray Istikhara, so he prayed it.

He put his trust in God and set foot on a distant and strange land, which is the United States of America.

He faced a lot during his travels, the sweetness of success, the bitterness of failure, the pain of alienation, and the beauty of travel.

He learned a lot in various areas of life, and graduated from university with honors in international relations, so his journey was very special.

From his research into the issue of gratitude to God and his work to repay his country, he decided to write a book in which he would convey his experience in a fictional narrative form.
