Amirah William
Dr. Amirah William is a New Zealander who has lived in the UAE since 2009. Founder of Stray Dogs Center, the largest nonprofit animal rescue shelter in UAE, Amirah is an educationalist, an animal welfare advocate, a shelter mom, a rescuer and the protector of 1279 dogs, 6 wonky donkeys and 15 cats.
Koko’s rescue journey moved a nation and the book is a result of the outpouring of emotions that ensued. It is the author’s hope that Koko’s story inspires a conversation about animal welfare that grows compassion and understanding towards the plight of the stray animals.
