Fatima Shams al-Din, a children’s author and mother.

She believes that a story is not meant to offer direct guidance or present ready-made lessons but rather to provide a safe space where a child can express all their feelings just as they are: their wonder and laughter, their jealousy and tears, their anger and sadness, and their joy and contentment.

She studied translation and learned Arabic and its literature, combining the beauty of language with its simplicity to write stories that are close to a child’s world and true to their feelings.

She writes for children as if she were sitting right beside them, telling them stories and listening to them, drawing inspiration for her tales from the everyday details of childhood, full of emotions and little questions.

Through her stories, she seeks to open the door to the imagination, to accompany children as they discover and understand their feelings, and to build a loving and warm relationship with reading, far removed from preaching and indoctrination.
