Mohammed Ali Mankadavu

Mohammed Ali Mankadavu is a writer from North Malabar, settled in the Middle East. His stories in Malayalam largely reflect the agony and nostalgia that the expatriate Keralites are subjected to. Mohammed’s first novel, Munthaya, was originally published in Malayalam, and it unravels the profound existential crisis and emotional tragedies faced by an unskilled rustic youth on an alien land. His stories realistically unearth the inner turmoil that the migrant workers in the dreary deserts of West Asia face. Simplicity, tenderness, and sympathy are the salient features of his stories.
