AbdAllah Ahmad Mahmoud

Abdullah Ahmed Mahmoud was born in the Tiaret region and grew up in the Dar Naim district of Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania.

Throughout his personal and professional journey, he has traversed cultures and eras, starting in Morocco, then South Korea, Brazil, and France, before finally settling in Istanbul.

He describes himself as a "wayfarer," drawing inspiration from the Mauritanian people's nomadic lifestyle and their deep connection to the Sahara and the Atlantic Ocean, where contrasts intersect, and from his enduring passion for discovery and knowledge.

Abdullah is a spirit inhabited by stories and driven by questions. He possesses a renewed passion for literature and science, and his intellectual experience intersects with profound human experiences, as well as cultural and historical ones.

He holds master's degrees in applied mathematics, languages and translation, and media and communication studies, reflecting the breadth of his interests and his continuous pursuit of learning and intellectual growth.

He lived in diverse societies, and these experiences are reflected in his writings, which blend the minute details of daily life with a delicate cultural sensibility, creating texts that pulsate with transformations and shed light on the contradictions and intersections of the human experience.

His writings are not mere narratives, but rather attempts to document seemingly fleeting moments that, at their core, embody a shared human dimension.

Among his most prominent literary works are: "Leaves Unwashed by the Rain," "A Drizzle from a Rainy City," "Dreams of December and Nightmares of July," and "The Memory of Absence." These works reflect the effects of time and place on the human psyche, lingering at the boundaries of dream and reality, longing and absence.

Abdullah is fluent in Arabic, French, English, and Turkish, which has enabled him to build bridges of communication across cultures and expand his literary and intellectual influence.

In addition to his literary works, he has made academic and journalistic contributions in various fields. He currently works as a business manager and international consultant in marketing and sales, collaborating with companies across diverse sectors.

At every stage of his journey, Abdullah Ahmed Mahmoud remains true to that transient moment, to the fleeting instant that demands to be captured, to the word that bridges two worlds, however contradictory they may seem.

For him, nothing surpasses the shared human experience; he is a traveler who never ceases to question and never stops writing.
