AMP-UAE National Day

The UAE National Day is celebrated each year on the 2nd of December. The anniversary of the union between the seven states of the United Arab Emirates.

In December 1971, the rulers of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Al-Ain, Sharjah and Umm a-Quwain united and established a new country, ‘United Arab Emirates’. Later in February 1972, Ras Al Khaimah decided to join the federation. The Ideology of union was initiated in a meeting between Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al Maktoum, the rulers of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The union constitution was approved on December 1, 1971. On December 2, 1971, the rulers of seven Emirates declared UAE a federal country.

Every year this day is celebrated with great festivity. Spectacular fireworks, car rallies and air shows are popular celebration activities. All decorations are done with the flags and lights. Burj Khalifa displays the UAE flag.
